Holiday resort Hof van Saksen starts construction on the world’s longest funnel water slide

Hof van Saksen, part of Landal GreenParks, continues to innovate and invest in exclusive water fun. The luxury holiday resort will start construction of the longest funnel water slide in the world on the 1st of April 2019. The 'Saltato' will be at least 195 metres long and will have four funnels with a 5-metre diameter. The new inner tube slide will be open for guests from the 5th of July 2019.

Hof van Saksen already had a world premiere in 2017, when Europe's most unique resort opened three spectacular indoor water slides: Bombo, the largest indoor water slide in the world with a 10-metre high free fall, Intenso, the highest of the inner tube slides with spectacular light effects, and Presto, the steepest and fastest slide for the ultimate adrenaline kick. The slides have been developed to minimise energy consumption. By choosing the most efficient heating and air treatment, over 95% of the heat can be recuperated from the discharged air and the water used to refresh the pools.

Saltato: a slide for true daredevils

The Saltato is a dream come true for daredevils. In a two-person inner tube, guests will hurtle down and make their way through four funnels with a 5-metre diameter. Spectacular light effects enhance the ride and create an intense experience. The name Saltato means ‘musical jumps’ and is a nod to the opera Carmen by Bizet. It starts off with a gentle and slow glide, then picks up a wave of speed before you roar down into the next funnel - an unforgettable experience.

Ultimate water fun at an exceptional resort

Hof van Saksen represents ultimate waterpark fun. Roland Rozenbroek, General Manager of Hof van Saksen said: “Nowhere else do they have such a unique water slide that is perfect for the whole family. With the Saltato we are aiming at providing older children, in particular, with an exceptional experience. We aim to give our guests an amazing holiday experience and we are keen to surprise them each and every visit. In recent years, the farmhouses, the facilities and our entertainment programme have undergone major modernisations and innovations so that we continue to be the most exceptional resort. By continually investing and innovating we maintain our top position in the sector.”

Guests full of praise for renovated Grand Café and Gusto Restaurant

As for culinary experiences, guests at Hof van Saksen can choose from four restaurants with a diverse range of dishes. The Grand Café and the Italian restaurant Gusto have recently been completely renovated and housed in a new location in the main building, the Havezate. Renowned interior designers have furnished the new locations with trendy, ambient, child-friendly and accessible interiors with international allure. We can see how much our guests appreciate this culinary innovation from the enthusiastic reviews and through the increase in guest appreciation.
