Landal Kielder Waterside - a second holiday park in Britain

Both parks now available to book at www.landal.co.uk

Landal GreenParks has expanded its offering in the United Kingdom with the addition of Landal Kielder Waterside in the Northumberland National Park, which lies on the border between England and Scotland. Earlier this year, Landal had already opened Landal Darwin Forest, situated in the Peak District National Park between Birmingham and Manchester. The United Kingdom is the ninth European country in which Landal currently operates.

Landal Kielder Waterside is located in the heart of a stunning area of natural beauty inside the Northumberland National Park, about 75 km away from the ferry port in Newcastle. The 32 lodges the park currently has look out over the largest man-made reservoir in the United Kingdom. The surrounding area not only provides stunning vistas but is also the only place in England to have been awarded Dark Sky Park status. A nearby observatory offers visitors the opportunity to take a closer look at our solar system. It is possible to walk or cycle all the way around the reservoir on a route totalling 42 km. Along the way, visitors encounter works of sculpture and other forms of art designed to be touched and experienced. There are also trails covering 165 km around the park for mountain biking enthusiasts to enjoy. Cruises on the lake are offered during the summer. Landal Kielder Waterside is the perfect destination for those seeking total relaxation in beautiful natural surroundings.

Some of the 4-, 5- and 6-bed lodges at the resort have their own hot tub. The park also has a small indoor swimming pool, sauna and wellness centre, gym, restaurant and bar, and a small shop. The many outdoor activities on offer include archery, and guests can also hire hoverboards, pedal go-karts and bicycles. The many walking, cycling and running trails nearby offer plenty of scope for discovery.

“This park is an excellent match for Landal both in terms of location and the surrounding area. We are very pleased to be able to give British holidaymakers the opportunity of getting to know Landal GreenParks so quickly. This addition will also give our regular guests a great way to discover Great Britain with Landal. Both of our parks in the UK can now be booked from the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium,” confirms Erik van Essen, Commercial Director for Landal GreenParks.

Over the coming years, the number of the lodges at the park will be increased in phases.

The number of Landal GreenParks resorts in the UK and other countries is also set to grow over time. In July of last year, Landal gained a foothold in the Danish holiday market through the acquisition of five Dayz Resorts parks.
