Landal GreenParks expanding once again

High-quality leisure parks: Landal Volendam and Landal Bad Boltenhagen (Baltic Sea coast)

Landal GreenParks is continuing to grow, with the addition of two parks at locations in the Netherlands and Germany that will appeal to tourists. A new leisure park comprising 42 luxury holiday homes will be built next to the Markermeer lake in the Dutch town of Volendam. And in Germany, 113 top-quality holiday homes are being created near to the charming seaside resort of Boltenhagen on the Baltic Sea coast. Earlier this month, Landal GreenParks also announced the construction of a new park in Kaatsheuvel (Netherlands).

Landal Volendam’s 42 holiday homes will be of various types and designs, echoing the architectural style typical of Volendam. The park will be located on the shores of the Markermeer, close to the outdoor swimming facilities on the lake. The small park will primarily attract water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. The nearby centre of Volendam will provide guests with further amenities. The development will contribute to the local municipality’s aim of improving the quality of tourism in the area.

Landal Bad Boltenhagen will be located less than 3 km from the charming and authentic seaside town and health resort of Boltenhagen on the Baltic Sea. The park will consist of 113 holiday homes, sleeping up to 12 people. The extra-luxurious accommodation types will feature a detached wellness lodge for private use, offering guests the ultimate in relaxation. The park will also have a restaurant and shop, indoor swimming pool, indoor play area and bicycle rentals. The first phase of building will see the construction of 54 holidays homes, most of which will be thatched. The remaining 29 holiday homes and 30 apartments will be built at a later stage.

The initiative, development and building of the two parks lies with Van Wijnen Recreatiebouw, which will start selling the holiday homes to private investors this month. Landal GreenParks will be responsible for rentals and operations when the parks open, which is expected to be in 2019. Van Wijnen and Landal GreenParks have worked together to create parks before, gaining knowledge and experience that will be combined to benefit both the construction process and the cooperation between the two companies for these new projects. On completion, the parks will receive Green Key certification.

“Landal is gaining two fantastic parks at two very different locations. What they have in common is that they are both a perfect match for us in terms of location and character. They will also be a good fit for the requirements of a growing number of German and Belgian guests who choose to stay with Landal,” commented Thomas Heerkens, Managing Director of Landal GreenParks.
