From conference centre to holiday park: Landal GreenParks takes over Sund & Skov on Funen
The largest chain of holiday parks in Europe, Landal GreenParks, has just settled an agreement regarding the operation and bungalow rental of the holiday park and conference centre, Sund & Skov. Hereby Landal GreenParks expands with a sixth holiday park in Denmark and its first on Funen.
Following two successful years in Denmark, the international holiday park concern, Landal GreenParks, is ready to add another vacation destination to the Landal-family. Sund & Skov, which is located on the island of Funen, will be the sixth park in Denmark – the first East of ‘Lillebælt’/Little Belt – and will take the name ‘Landal Middelfart’.
“The addition of Sund & Skov to our portfolio matches our ambitions of further expansion in Denmark. The main strategic venture will no doubt be the change from conference centre to holiday park, but we see it as a long term, viable solution, which matches the demand within the market. We are excited to be able to expand further East, and it is still our intention to keep doing so in the future. We are also happy to offer our guests new activities and options by opening a new and different Landal park”, says Søren Sandberg, regional director of Landal GreenParks in Denmark.
Sund & Skov is located in Middelfart in beautiful natural surroundings just by Lillebælt/Little Belt and holds a total of 126 bungalows. The bungalows will continue to be privately owned and up for rental, while the facilities and operation of the park will be taken over by Landal GreenParks.
One with nature
With 90 holiday parks in nine different countries, Landal GreenParks is the largest chain of holiday parks in Europe. In January 2018 the chain took over the parks Grønhøj Strand, Ebeltoft, Rønbjerg, Seawest, and Søhøjlandet, which previously made up Dayz Resorts. Since then Landal GreenParks has invested more than 25 mio. dkr. in the development of the parks’ sustainable facilities as well as indoor and outdoor activities. All of the parks are located in scenic natural surroundings, which is one of the reasons why Sund & Skov was chosen, as it is also placed in a calm and green location.
