Landal GreenParks opens a third park in the United Kingdom
On the Cornish coast
as of 1 January 2018, Landal GreenParks will expand with a new holiday park in the UK: Landal Gwel an Mor, situated on the coast of the English county of Cornwall. It's the third expansion in the UK in a year: earlier this year, Landal Darwin Forest opened in the Peak District National Park, situated between Birmingham and Manchester, and Landal Kielder Waterside opened in the Northumberland National Park, on the border between England and Scotland. This step contributes to Landal GreenParks' ambition for international growth. The UK is one of the nine countries in Europe in which the holiday company is active.
Landal Gwel an Mor is close to the coastal town of Portreath, in the south-westernmost part of England, roughly 50 kilometres from Land's End. Gwel an Mor means sea view in the Celtic language originally spoken here. The National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor are close by. Tourists find Cornwall attractive, so it's a popular region, with holiday-makers not only from the UK, but also from The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The area offers beautiful landscapes, a great many challenging outdoor activities and a 9-hole golf course. The Tate Modern Art Gallery reopens this month in the nearby coastal town of St. Ives, following a four-year renovation.
Landal Gwel an Mor consists of 87 luxury holiday homes and an indoor swimming pool with spa, sauna and gym. In the centre of the park, there is a restaurant and a large indoor activity centre. There is also a small shop and various play areas for children. The entire park has a view of the sea.
"We are once again adding a beautiful holiday destination, with a real Landal appeal, in one of the loveliest regions of England. UK holiday-makers who last year experienced Landal GreenParks for the first time in their own country, are extremely enthusiastic about our hospitality. And for our existing guests, this is a wonderful opportunity to discover the UK. In addition, we expect an increase in the numbers of UK guests visiting Landal parks on the continent", commented Thomas Heerkens, General Manager of Landal GreenParks.
