Landal GreenParks Expands into the United Kingdom

Landal GreenParks will welcome its first holiday resort in the United Kingdom with the opening of Landal Darwin Forest on 6th January, 2017. The company expects to add more locations in the country in the near future.

This latest step is consistent with the holiday operator's plans for international growth and will bring the number of parks it operates to 85. In July of this year, Landal entered the Danish holiday market for the first time through the acquisition of five Dayz Resorts parks. The United Kingdom will be the ninth European country in which Landal operates.

Landal Darwin Forest is located on the edge of the Peak District National Park in the Heart of England, north of Birmingham and east of Manchester. It is a stunning area of natural beauty, offering plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling and mountain biking. Landal Darwin Forest offers over 110 luxury lodges and has central facilities including an indoor swimming pool, gym, spa and beauty complex, a pub and restaurant and a shop. Also there is an outstanding indoor children’s play centre as well as playgrounds.

"This lodge resort is located in a splendid region, has the look and feel of a Landal resort and will provide British holidaymakers with a great opportunity for getting to know Landal GreenParks while holidaying in their own country. It will also give our existing guests the chance to discover the many wonders of the United Kingdom with Landal,” said Thomas Heerkins, CEO of Landal GreenParks. “With our entry into this new market, we expect to see an increase in the number of guests from the United Kingdom at our existing Landal parks as well.”

Holidays at the park can be booked from the start of February onwards via www.landal.nl.
